Moving In & Moving Out

Can I move in today?

Yes. If you order online during working hours, we will process your order within 2 hours and you will be able to move in. If you are in a rush, then its best to call us before you place your order and we can help. Telephone FREE on 0800 4488 418 or email enquiries@greyboxselfstorage.co.uk

Can I reserve a storage unit, but move in and pay later?

Yes. You can reserve storage up to 14 days before you move in. Just book online and choose the date you want to move in.

What is the process of moving in?

You simply book online, we will then send you a welcome email after you have paid with everything you need to know including gate codes, door codes, key collection and other information you will need. As soon as you have your welcome email you are free to use you storage unit anytime!

Do you provide padlocks?

Yes, we provide everything you need free of charge. You simply book online and pay one months rent and a security deposit up front and we provide everything else!

Do I have to use your padlock?

No. We provide free padlocks (coded locks for storerooms and 'lock box' key operated locks for shipping containers), but if you prefer to use your own thats fine with us.

Can I let my removal company in to my storage unit without me being there.

Yes. You can give your access details to anyone to use. Please tell them always to lock gates behind then and lock up your storage unit when they leave.

What do I do when I want to leave and move out?

Just give us 30 days notice. Tell us on the day you leave and we will check your unit has been left empty and clean with the padlock & keys we provided. We will then refund your security deposit.

Do I have to clean out my unit when i leave?

Yes. We expect the unit to be left clean and empty as you originally found it. We charge to clean a unit and take this from your deposit, so please leave it clean with the original lock and key.

If I have paid upfront for long-term storage and wish to leave early, will I recieve a refund?

No. You have benefited from a large discount if you paid upfront for either 3, 6 or 12 months. We do not refund due to this if you leave early.

What happens if I do not give notice before I leave?

Your storage rolls over and you will be charged for the next month when it is due.

Can I view a storage unit before I book it?
