Access & Security

What security do you provide on site?

Security of our sites is the utmost priority. We have installed HD CCTV coverage & flood lighting throughout our yards and combination locks on all gates are changed regularly. Our buildings in Coventry Exhall also have state of the art access control and individual alarms on every storeroom, whilst at our container sites we have night time security patrols.

Do you insure conents in storage units?

No. We used to offer this service but because so few customers paid for this as they find our facilities incredibly secure, we no longer provide insurance. Please call us if you want us to recommend companies that do provide insurance, typically they charge £15-£70 month for £500-£5000 worth of insurance respectively. They will need a up to date contents form filling in everytime you want to move things in and out of storage too.

What happens if I lose you access codes or padlock code or key?

Don't worry, we can provide new locks and codes (we charge for new locks) and we have good locksmiths who can come within 24 hours and gain entry (locksmiths charge £50-£200 depending on the job)

Can I have 24 hour access?

Yes. All of our facilities are 24 hour access. We do not charge extra for this unlike most storage companies.

Can I view a unit before I move in?

Can I use electrical devices (Computers, kettles, etc.) in my unit?

Yes. But you will need to pay for an electricity supply. Please contact us and we can arrange this, or book it when you make your reservation.

Who else has access to my storage unit?

Access is limited to you unless you, or anyone you give access to. Grey Box Self Storage retain the right to access if required for health and safety reasons or if you do not pay.

Can I sleep or live in my storage unit?

No
